SmartUs

We are proud to say that we are the first school in Staffordshire to have a SmartUs playground installed. The SmartUs aims at motivating people of all ages to exercise and learn through the application of information technology. It's a great oportunity for us to establish the school as a pioneer, looking for new ways to engage children with technology. As well as the many benefits it provides for the school, we are hoping the local community and other schools will be able to use the equipment. As well as stand alone pieces of kit that include balancing platforms, a launch pad and monkey bars, the equipment comes with a variety of pre-loaded games that encourage the children to collect points by completing tasks. Swipe cards register collected points and a screen tells users where they need to jump or what they need to do next. The children can even use software to design their own games. |
“The County Council is delighted to be able to support such an innovative and exciting project that will allow children to exercise their minds as well as bodies. I congratulate Little Aston on being the first school to try this new play equipment, it is a great example of using technology to drive a school forward.” - County Councillor Robert Simpson
