Parents in Partnership
Little Aston Primary School is committed to providing the best learning opportunities for all our children. We believe this is best achieved through a positive partnership between the child, parent and school. We therefore encourage our children and our parents to become actively involved in the life of the school.
Parents
We believe that a positive partnership between parents and teachers is vital to the children’s education and we keep parents informed through regular communication from school. Parents are always welcome to visit the school, although sometimes a telephone call is all that is needed. The school liaises with parents in a number of ways:
- Communication through the learning platform
- Written reports and dialogue about pupil progress
- Termly consultation evenings
- Workshops and information evenings to help parents find out more about our school and ways in which they can help their child
- Newsletters and informal contacts
- Induction programmes
- Staff are available after school, by appointment, to discuss matters relating to your child or his/her progress
- We expect parents to approach school staff respectfully at all times. Any adults behaving in a threatening manner towards anyone will be asked to leave the premises.

Pupils
We encourage children to become active participants in school life. We aim to develop a sense of responsibility and belonging in each child by providing a wide range of activities which stimulate their interests and provide opportunities to exercise responsibility. Our pupil school and class councils provide our children with the democratic forum in which they can voice their opinions about the development of our school. Additional roles within our school that children aspire to include house captains, prefects, playground buddies and members of our eco council.
